San Leon Awarded Czersk Concession

Polish-focused San Leon Energy has announced today that it has been awarded its second concession in the Baltic Basin in Poland

The company confirmed today that it had been awarded the Czersk Concession by the Polish Ministry of Environment granting the company access to an additional 702.5 km2 (173,584 acres) in the Baltic Basin. This brings San Leon's total acreage in the Baltic Basin to 958,000 net acres from 468,000 net acres.

This is the second concession for San Leon in the Baltic Basin, after its first, the Gniew concession, which it acquired through its acquisition of Realm Energy in August of last year. The company also holds interests in five more concessions in Poland alone.

The Czersk Concession contains portions of two blocks of the basin, taking in portions of two blocks within, Blocks 87 and 88.

Oisin Fanning, Chairman of San Leon, said today that the acquisition of the Czersk Concession was in keeping with its strategy in the basin.

"This concession award is another positive step in the development of our company," he said. "We are confident that our strategy of securing licences in different locations within the Baltic Basin will prove to be successful in the future."
