Salamander Energy Spuds North Kendang-1 Well

Salamander Energy has announced the spud of the North Kendang-1 exploration well in the South East Sangatta PSC. Salamander has a 75% operated interest in the South East Sangatta PSC.

The North Kendang-1 well is targeting gas and oil play in a series of stacked Pliocene-Upper Miocene sandstone reservoirs. The well will be drilled to the depth of approx. 2,600 m. The combined mean pre-drill estimate of prospective recoverable resources is approx. 770 Bcf and 91 MMbo.

On completion of the North Kendang well the rig will return to the Bontang PSC to drill the Bedug Prospect. The Bedug location is 4 km east and 500 m up-dip of the recent South Kecapi oil and gas discovery.
