Saipem Wins Orders In Romania, UAE
Italian contractor Saipem has secured two contracts worth more than $160mn for offshore drilling in Romania and the UAE, the company said on July 22.
Saipem has been hired to sink a well on Romania’s Black Sea shelf in the fourth quarter of this year, using its Scarabeo 9 semi-submersible. It has also been selected to drill off the coast of Abu Dhabi, under a four-year contract. Here it will deploy its high-spec Perro Negro 8 jack-up.
The company did not specify the customers for the work.
Earlier this month, Saipem was also awarded engineering, procurement, construction and installation contracts in the Arabian Gulf by Saudi Aramco, worth over $3.5bn.
