Russian University to Offer Program on Unconventional Resources
US-based Halliburton signed a partnership agreement with Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas for the joint development of unconventional resources in Russia, reads a note released on Monday.
Halliburton will team up with Gubkin to explore ‘basic applied research opportunities in conventional and unconventional resource development.” The Texas-based service provider also mentioned opportunities in the Bazhenov shale.
Halliburton’s Konstantin Schilin suggested that the agreement is a necessary step towards an unconventional industry in Russia.
The university will soon offer a curriculum tailored to the needs of unconventional resources. Halliburton will provide technical and management staff.
