ROC Finds More Hydrocarbons Offshore Malaysia
ROC has drilled the Balai-2 well to a total depth of 2,266 metres and has encountered up to 87 metres of hydrocarbon pay in multiple zones in the Balai Cluster in Malaysia. The well is the second well in the predevelopment phase drilling and forms part of the Balai Cluster, offshore East Malaysia.
Balai-2 intersected about 47 metres of hydrocarbon pay in the primary target stacked sandstone reservoirs and another 40 metres of gas pay in the secondary shallow carbonate reservoir objective.
The Balai Cluster consists of four fields: Balai, Bentara, West Acis and Spaoh fields.
The rig is preparing to move to the Spaoh field which is located approximately 60 kilometres southwest of Balai for the drilling of the Spaoh-2 well.
