REN Expansion Deal Approved

Portuguese firms EDP and REN said that all approvals have now been secured for REN's purchase of the EDP Gas distribution network.

Portugal's main national power and gas grid REN said April 7 that it would acquire the asset, a 4,460km gas distribution network in northern Portugal, for €532.4mn from Portuguese utility EDP.  

REN and EDP said September 21 they expected the deal to be finalised within about 15 days.
