Reliance Infrastructure Wins Bangladesh Power Plant EPC Contract

Reliance Infrastructure, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has won two engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts worth rupees 50bn ($780mn) for Bangladesh gas-based power plant and an LNG terminal, it said December 6.

The first EPC contract includes setting up the entire infrastructure of a 750-MW gas-based combined cycle power plant at Meghnaghat while the second project is for building a 500mn ft³/d floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) based integrated LNG terminal project at Kutubdia Island, both in Bangladesh

The power plant and the LNG terminal are being developed by Reliance Power, which is also part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.

Both the contracts are to be completed in 24 months, Reliance Infrastructure said. The contracts for both the projects entail design, engineering, supply, transportation, erection, testing and commissioning processes. The integrated LNG terminal project works would include setting up a jetty and onshore and offshore gas pipelines.
