Qatar Awards Offshore Topsides, Pipelines Feed Contract

Qatar Petroleum has awarded the front end engineering design (Feed) contract for the North Field Expansion Project’s offshore pipelines and topsides facilities. 

The scope of this Feed, which was awarded to McDermott, includes engineering design for eight unmanned wellhead platform topsides, four 38-inch trunk lines and four 28-inch intrafield lines, and is expected to take 12 months to complete, Qatar Petroleum said May 27.

Qatar Petroleum is planning to expand production from 77mn mt/yr to 110mn mt/yr by 2024. Qatargas is entrusted with executing this project on behalf of Qatar Petroleum.
