PTTEP Eyes North American Shale Gas Assets

Thailand’s PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) is looking to invest in North America's shale gas through a joint investment with strategic partners.

Tevin Vongvanich, the president and chief executive, said on Thursday the company might either join hands with strategic partners or acquire assets related to shale gas resources, Bangkok Post reported.

The company plans to develop LNG from shale gas to serve the Thai market.

Thailand's energy demand has risen sharply each year, and it needs to secure resources by using technology, he said.
