Prelude FLNG Resumes Cargo Shipments
Shell Australia has resumed shipments of LNG cargoes from its Prelude floating LNG (FLNG) project offshore Western Australia, a company spokesperson told NGW via email on January 12.
“LNG cargoes have resumed from Shell's Prelude FLNG facility. Prelude is a multi-decade project, and our focus remains on delivering sustained performance over the long-term,” the spokesperson commented without saying if the operational issues had been fully resolved.
The 3.6mn metric ton/year Prelude FLNG was shut down in February last year after a power failure. The terminal is jointly owned by Shell, Japan’s Inpex, Korea Gas and Taiwan’s CPC, having shipped its first gas in June 2019 after long delays.
