Poland Sells First Lithuanian LNG to Trucks
Within a week of the start of its capacity contract, Polish state oil and gas company PGNiG has sold the first two LNG cargoes from the small-scale reloading station in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda, it said April 8. It said the sales showed that the LNG markets in Lithuania and the other Baltic countries have considerable potential.
The two LNG trucks were loaded April 7, and both cargoes were purchased by Cryo Shipping, a Norwegian bunker fuel supplier for LNG fuelled ships. The company is active in the bunkering markets of Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Lithuania. It said it looked forward to doing more business with PGNiG and "developing our position as LNG bunker fuel supplier in Port of Klaipeda."

The LNG cargoes were used to bunker the Greenland, a cement carrier moored at the wharf of the Klaipeda port and owned by Norway’s JT Cement AS.
PGNiG won the tender for the exclusive use of the Klaipeda reloading station in November 2019. It was organised by Klaipedos Nafta, which also operates a floating LNG regasification and storage unit in the port, a few kilometres away. The contract between the two companies came into force on April 1 and has a five-year duration.
The LNG reloading station has five tanks with a total capacity of 5,000 m³ and two loading stations for LNG trucks and ISO containers, which can be used simultaneously.
