Platts: Singapore unit to play key role in Gail's LNG trading strategy
Gail Global Singapore will play a key role in providing trading flexibility for Indian parent Gail's strategy for the LNG it is buying from the US on long-term contracts, company executives said Tuesday.
Gail has 20-year offtake deals with Cheniere Energy and Dominion Cove Point for 3.5 million mt/year and 2.3 million mt/year of LNG, respectively, lifting from the Sabine Pass and Cove Point liquefaction terminals in the US.
"We are tying up a lot of our needed volumes with long-term contracts. These contracts [from the US] will definitely keep the Singapore office in the fray," Gail marketing director Prabhat Singh told Platts in an interview.
Gail Singapore will initially market 1 million mt/year of contracted US Sabine Pass LNG. Singh would not say if more would be available in future. MORE
