PGNiG to ramp up Norwegian gas flow
Polish gas supplier PGNiG aims to produce 0.5bn m3 more natural gas at its offshore fields in Norway this year, the company reported on May 11, enabling it to expand overall production to 3bn m3.
This growth will be achieved with increased contributions from the Skarv, Gina Krog and Duva fields, PGNiG said. At the first two fields, the reinjection of gas into reservoirs will cease, freeing up extra volumes for export. At Duva, PGNiG and its partners will make use of spare production capacity at the Gjoa platform that handles its gas. This extra capacity will be available until the end of August, when the Nova field is due on stream.

This gas will be pumped to Poland following the launch of Baltic Pipe, expected this October. The 10bn m3/year pipeline will help Poland replace Russian supply, which was halted abruptly in late April after Warsaw's refusal to make payments in rubles.
