PGNiG To Pursue More Shale Gas Concessions
Poland's Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGNiG) plans to launch drilling on its shale gas concession in the eastern town of Tomaszow Lubelsk.
PGNiG, which holds 15 unconventional and conventional hydrocarbon exploration licenses in Poland, is currently drilling at the Wejcherowo site, on the Baltic coast.
The Polish gas monopoly plans to apply for additional concessions for unconventional gas exploration, deputy CEO Marek Karabula told PAP Polish news agency.
Poland has already granted over 100 licenses for unconventional gas exploration.
