PGNiG Launches New Wells in Poland
Polish gas supplier PGNiG has brought online six new wells in southeast Poland, it reported on February 11, estimating they would contribute 60mn m3 of annual gas supply.
The Bratkowice-6K, Gnojnica-6K, Ocieka-2 and Mirocin-6, -34 and -52 wells were drilled towards the end of 2020 and the start of 2021 in the Podkarpackie region. All have been test-flowed, yielding commercial volumes of gas.
The wells were drilled at new prospects identified with 3-D seismic surveys and at mature fields. PGNiG will obtain additional understanding of geological structures from the wells, which will help it plan further work.
PGNiG produced 3.815bn m3 of gas in Poland in 2019, along with a further 481mn m3 in Norway and 193mn m3 in Pakistan.
