Petrovietnam Gas to begin supplying LNG via trucks
Petrovietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas), a unit of state-owned Petrovietnam, will begin supplying LNG via trucks to to downstream customers, it said on March 1.
Set to commence operations on March 15, this move is part of PV GAS's integrated LPG/CNG/LNG business model, designed to offer a range of product choices and flexible supply sources while maintaining competitive quality and pricing, the company stated.
The Thi Vai LNG import terminal, commissioned by PV Gas last year, serves as a critical component of this initiative. With an initial handling capacity of 1mn tonnes/year, the terminal boasts a 180,000 m3 storage LNG tank, a jetty, and a regasification area. In the second phase, the terminal's capacity will be expanded to 3mn tonnes/year.
PV Gas envisions the Thi Vai LNG import terminal playing a pivotal role in bolstering gas supply to consumers, including crucial entities like the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plants, as well as various industrial customers.
PV Gas obtained government approval to import LNG in May last year.
