Petronet Kochi LNG Terminal to be Ready by December
Petronet's LNG terminal at Puthu Vypeen near Kochi is likely to be commissioned by December this year.
The company earlier expected the project to be ready by July and operation by October. However, the process of capacity increase from 2.5 million tonne to 5 million tonne caused the delay.
Petronet proposes to source LNG under a long-term contract from Gorgan in Australia by 2015 for its plant here. The about 1.5 million tonnes purchased from Gorgan will be sold to GAIL, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and IndianOil Corporation.
