Petronas' First FLNG Facility is 91% Complete
Petronas' first floating LNG (FLNG) facility, PFLNG 1, is now 91 per cent complete and on schedule, Bernama news agency reported.
The facility would be fully complete by the first quarter next year and would produce 1.2 million tonnes of gas every year, beginning March 2016, Vice president and venture director LNG Projects – Domestic, Datuk Abdullah Karim, said.
“We plan to sell the gas around February next year and it will take a month to commission. So far we do not have any fixed buyers but we are targeting customers in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and our current customers here,” he told reporters on Tuesday, Bernama reported.
The PFLNG1 will make possible the liquefaction, production and offloading of LNG at 180km offshore Bintulu, Sarawak.
