Petronas, Conoco, Shell JV Starts Gas Production Offshore Malaysia
Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company Sdn Bhd (KPOC) has successfully started gas production from the Kebabangan (KBB) platform offshore Malaysia, Bernama news agency reported citing company statement.
KPOC is a joint operating company comprising Petronas (40 per cent), ConocoPhillips 30 per cent) and Shell (30 per cent).
The company expects output to rise to 500 mmscf per day by April next year.
The field is located offshore Malaysia and is part of the KBB Cluster Production Sharing Contract operated by KPOC.
KBB platform has the capacity to process up to 825 million standard cubic feet of natural gas, 80,000 barrels of crude oil and 22,000 barrels of condensate daily, Bernama said.
Hydrocarbons from the platform will be transported through a pipeline to the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal located onshore Kimanis, Sabah.
