Petrofac scores BP deal in Azerbaijan
UK oilfield services provider Petrofac announced on June 24 that its joint venture with Azerbaijan's state-owned oil company SOCAR had won a $25mn contract from BP for services at the Azeri Central East (ACE) platform in the Azeri Caspian Sea.
The ACE platform is due to pump its first oil in 2023 and deliver 100,000 barrels/day at full capacity, helping to stem decline at the BP-led Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli project. Under the contract, Petrofac and SOCAR will provide commissioning technicians and other specialist personnel, and mobilisation and associated services, to support work both onshore and offshore in Azerbaijan.
