PetroChina's Moxi Block has Produced 5bcm of Gas till Aug 3

PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gasfield Company’s Moxi block of Anyue gas field in Sichuan has produced 5.018 billion cubic meters of natural gas from January 1 to August 3, CNPC said on Tuesday.

Last month the company said its total gas production during the first half of this year stood at 9.83 bcm. Gas production during the six months was higher by 2.4 bcm compared with same period last year and constituted 51.7 percent of the annual plan. The company managed to sell 10.23 bcm of gas during the period.

In the first half of this year, Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company moved ahead with development of Changning-Weiyuan shale gas demonstration area in Sichuan province. The first half shale gas output stood at 1.154 bcm. The Changing-Weiyuan area was recognized as national demonstration zone on shale gas exploration and development by National Energy Administration in March 2012.
