SINGAPORE, Feb 2 (Reuters) - PetroChina appointed a former crude oil trading manager as the president of its oil and gas trading unit PetroChina International, several people with knowledge of the matter said on Friday.
Luo Yizhou, a long-time crude oil trader with PetroChina International, also known as Chinaoil, and head of its London operation before being promoted as a vice president several years ago, started his new role last month, the people said.

Luo, in his mid-40s, joined Chinaoil's crude oil desk in Beijing in 2000 and was posted as a vice president for its London office in 2007 before taking over the presidency there.
In his London-based role, Luo also oversaw PetroChina International's joint-venture refinery and trading operations with British oil and chemicals company Ineos.
A spokesperson for China National Petroleum Corp, Petrochina's parent, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
