Pertamina Strikes More Gas in South Sumatra

Pertamina EP has discovered new natural gas reserve in the PAFE Pagardewa area in South Sumatra, Indonesia’s oil and gas regulator said on its website.

The Lavatera (LVT)-1 exploration well had been found to produce gas at a rate of 5.7 million cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) on a 36/64-inch choke.

The company, in an effort to boost gas output, is planning a POP (Put on Production) procedure on the Lavatera well in early 2013, with a planned production of 3 MMSCFD.

The gas produced from the Lavatera well will be supplied to the South Sumatra West Java (SSWJ) under a Gas Purchase Agreement with the state gas distributor PGN.

The Lavatera structure is located in Muara Enim – around 3 kilometer east of the Tasim structure or 2.5 kilometer northwest of the Pagardewa structure.
