Pertamina Starts Work on Arun LNG Terminal
Pertamina, through its subsidiary Perta Arun Gas, has started work on a liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and regasification terminal in Arun, Aceh, Indonesia which is expected to be complete in 2014, reports Jakarta Post.
The terminal will have a capacity of 400 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) or equal to 3 million tons a year.
Pertamina director for gas Hari Karyuliarto said the project would be run by Perta Arun Gas, a company 70 percent owned by Pertamina (through Pertamina Gas) and 30 percent by a company belonging to the Aceh administration, adds Jakarta Post.
Along with the regasification project, Pertamina is also working on the 340-kilometer Arun-Belawan gas transmission pipeline. Pertamina aims to complete about 50% of the project by December.
