Pertamina not sole contract priority, says BPMigas
Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas regulator BPMigas has said Pertamina is not the sole contract priority to take over oil and gas blocks, the contracts of which were about to expire.
The regulator said that many other national companies had sufficient technical and financial capabilities to operate the blocks.
According to available data, there were 11 blocks where contracts would expire between 2013 and 2018.
Country's Energy and Mineral Resources deputy minister has said that the revision of the 2001 Law on Oil and Gas Law prioritised Pertamina to take over expired block contracts.
