Pertamina eyes Bontang LNG
Indonesia’s Pertamina is looking to secure supplies of liquefied natural gas from the Bontang LNG plant for Central Java FSRU project, the Jakarta Post reported.
The high international price has made LNG imports less favourable and will cause an economic burden to the company, the report said.
The company expected the Bontang LNG terminal to provide 1.5 mtpa of LNG for the FSRU project.
The Central Java FSRU is scheduled to begin commercial operations in the first quarter of 2013 with the completion of the project fully depended on the certainty of the gas supply.
Pertamina also recently said that it is ready to purchase LNG from the Tangguh plant in Papua, which is allocated for Fujian in China, for three times higher than the current listed price.
