Pertamina expects 17% rise in 2022 output

Indonesia's state-owned energy company Pertamina expects oil and gas production of 1mn b/d of oil equivalent in 2022, up 17% year/year, it said on July 7.

Until the end of May, Pertamina's oil and gas production reached 0.96mn b/d of oil equivalent, up 8% from the same period last year. For the full year, the company expects to drill 813 development wells, an increase of 232% compared with last year, and 29 exploration wells, an increase of 242% yr/yr.

Other efforts to optimise upstream performance in 2022 include carrying out reactivation of suspended wells, Pertamina said. It will also study the exploration potential of Manpatu-01, which is a gas discovery in Mahakam, and Sungai Gelam Timur-01 oil find in Jambi.
