WhiteWater acquires Permian Gateway pipeline
US midstream company WhiteWater announced August 26 it had acquired the Gateway pipeline, a network delivering gas from the Permian basin.
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved construction of the 61-cm diameter pipeline in 2019. The 38-km pipeline has a capacity of about 400mn ft3/day of natural gas.

WhiteWater said it acquired the pipeline from Sendero, though no terms were disclosed. Questions sent to WhiteWater by NGW went unanswered.
Gateway is connected WhiteWater’s Aqua Blanca pipeline system.
The Aqua Blanca expansion project went into service in January, connecting various gas processing sites straddling the border of Texas and New Mexico. It has a design capacity of 1.8bn ft³/d and is scheduled to be connected to the Whistler pipeline during the third quarter.
Whistler Pipeline started deliveries in July, providing around 2bn ft3/d of takeaway capacity from the Permian basin.
The Permian basin is the second-largest natural gas producer among the seven primary US shale reservoirs. Federal estimates show production is expected to increase by about 0.4% from August levels to reach 18bn ft3/d on average next month.
