Palta Gas Resource Estimates in Line with WHL Figures
Australian energy company WHL Energy Limited has said that a note lodged with Australian Securities and Investments Commission says that Palta prospect offshore Western Australia holds an estimated Mean Prospective Gas Resource of 2.54Tcf. The estimate is also in line with WHL’s previous estimate of 2.5Tcf. The report has been prepared for joint venture partner Cott Oil & Gas by Sable.
Palta‐1 well being drilled under contract by Shell was now nearing the half way mark of the estimated 60 day drilling schedule.
The Company was awarded the WA-460-P Exploration Permit in November 2011, along with two local partners. The permit is located in the offshore southern Carnarvon Basin of Western Australia. Strike Energy Limited, WHL Energy and Cottesloe Oil and Gas hold equal share of 33.3% in the project.
