Pakistan's OGDCL Makes 'Significant' Gas Discovery
Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has made ‘significant’ oil and natural gas discoveries, country’s oil minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Thursday, reported Associated Press of Pakistan (AAP).
The minister told media in Islamabad that the company discovered reservoir of 35.7 mmcfd (million cubic feet per day) gas in its Thal East-I concession.
The second discovery of 1,032 barrels oil per day has been made in the company Nashpa field, in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Commenting on Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approval to sign the LNG Sale Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Qatar, he said Pakistan State Oil's (PSO) Board would finalize the agreement under government-to-government arrangement after completing the due process.
