Pakistan Targets 150 bcf of Shale, Tight Gas
Pakistan is expected to target 150 billion cubic feet (BCF) shale and tight gas in the country by planning seven exploratory wells, eight appraisal wells, and 19 development wells in the next five years, managing director of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Asif Murtaza, was quoted as saying, the Daily Times reported.
He added that shale and tight gas price approval has been sought from the regulator to speed up the exploration activity. Some of the potential areas for shale and tight gas discoveries are Hala, Kotri, Notari North, Jangshahi, Gambat and south blocks, he said.
Murtaza also said that Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Eni will start drilling of exploratory well in Sindh’s deep sea in 2014.
