Pakistan ECC Authorizes ISGS to Execute TAPI Gas Project

At a meeting of Sub-Committee of the Economic Cooperation Committee on Pakistan Gas Import Projects, held on Friday, the committee deliberated the agenda which comprised matters relating to Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project and Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project, media reports in Pakistan said.

Reports said that the committee gave a go ahead to Interstate Gas Systems (ISGS) of Pakistan to execute the TAPI Gas Sale Purchase Agreement with Turkmenistan and called for early implementation.

As for IP project, the committee expressed its satisfaction on overall progress of the project and resolved to implement the project as per agreed timelines. The committee directed Ministry of Petroleum and ISGS to ensure all efforts for timely completion of the project.
