Pakistan to Merge LNG Importers: Press
Pakistani state-run Pakistan LNG Terminals and Pakistan LNG will be merged into a single entity with the process expected to be complete by January 1 next year, The Nation reported on December 29. The new entity will be called Pakistan LNG.
The two companies were set up to manage the import of LNG and various terminal operations, with Pakistan LNG Terminals handling storage and regasification, and Pakistan LNG the import and marketing of the gas. But their functions now overlap, sources told the newspaper. And as the government has decided that no new public sector LNG terminals will be built, Pakistan LNG Terminals has lost some of its importance, the newspaper said.
