Oz Worley Wins Mozambique LNG Contract

Australian engineering and services company Worley has been awarded two master service agreements by Total E&P Mozambique Area 1 to provide services to the Mozambique LNG project, Worley said February 19 in a statement.

Under the agreements, Worley will provide in-and-out of country services, including engineering, consulting and specialist engineering for delivery of onshore and offshore (subsea) facilities. The services will support the development of the new LNG facility, it said.

The services will be executed by Worley’s local Mozambique operation with support from Worley’s global businesses including Advisian. Worley said it has supported the LNG development, located on the Afungi peninsula in Cabo Delgado province, since gas was first discovered there in 2010.

Total has a 26.5% stake in Mozambique LNG – a $20bn scheme to produce up to 12.88mn mt/yr of LNG from gas resources in the Rovuma basin off Mozambique. Total’s partners in the venture are Japan’s Mitsui E&P (20%), India’s ONGC Videsh (10%) and BPRL Ventures Mozambique (10%), local players ENH Rovuma (15%) and Beas Rovuma Energy Mozambique (10%) and Thailand’s PTTEP (8.5%).
