Oz Senex Reaches Nameplate Production at Atlas
Sydney-listed Senex Energy has reached nameplate production of 32 terajoules/day (30mn ft3/day) at the Atlas natural gas processing facility in Queensland’s Surat basin, it said on February 16.
“Production at the firm nameplate capacity was achieved ahead of schedule and continues to increase,” it said, adding a further non-firm capacity of 8 terajoules/day is also available at the Atlas facility.

Senex announced last month that its total Surat basin production had reached 50 terajoules/day, an increase of 16% from the previous quarter. According to the company, the latest Atlas achievement is the final production milestone in its foundation A$400mn (US$312mn) Surat basin development project, which includes Atlas and Roma North.
“This latest milestone underscores Senex’s success in becoming a material new entrant in a strong domestic market with high barriers to entry. Our Surat basin operations now produce the equivalent of 10% of Queensland’s domestic demand and there is much more to come as we unlock our 780 petajoules of 2P gas reserves,” CEO Ian Davies said.
