Oz Beach Announces New Managing Director

Australian oil and gas explorer Beach Energy said February 26 it has appointed Matt Kay as managing director with effect from February 25, 2019.

Kay has more than 25 years of experience in the resources sector and joined Beach in May 2016 as CEO. He previously served as executive general manager, strategy and commercial at Oil Search, a position he held for two years. Prior to Oil Search, Kay spent 12 years with Woodside Energy in various leadership roles.

Beach also announced the appointment of Sally-Anne Layman as an independent non-executive director, with effect from February 25, 2019. Layman brings significant international and cross commodity experience, including 14 years at Macquarie Group where she was joint head of the Perth office for the metals, mining and agriculture division, Beach said.

Layman is also non-executive chairman of Gascoyne Resources and on the board of Perseus Mining, Imdex and Pilbara Minerals.
