Orlen to Drill for Shale Gas This Year

PKN Orlen will  launch drilling on its shale gas concessions in Poland during 2011.

The investment in shale gas is part of Poland's largest refiner move to invest in upstream and energy production to diversify its business, its chief executive, Jacek Krawiec told Gazeta Wyborcza in an interview.

The state-controlled group has five shale gas concession fields in the Lublin area in eastern Poland.
