OGDCL reports gas condensate discovery in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Karachi-listed Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDCL) announced on July 29 the discovery of gas condensate from the Lumshiwal-1 zone at the Razgir-1 exploratory well, located in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The joint venture undertaking the project comprises OGDCL with a 30% working interest, MOL (operator) with 10%, Pakistan Petroleum with 30%, Pakistan Oilfields with 25%, and Government Holdings Private with 5%.
The well was spudded in January and reached its target depth of 3,950 m. Based on wireline logs interpretation, the Lumshiwal-1 formation was tested at a rate of 20mn ft3/day of gas and 250 barrels/day of condensate.
“This discovery has de-risked further exploration play in the TAL Block, leading to new upside opportunities. The said discovery will help to enhance the indigenous hydrocarbons supply of the country and also add to the hydrocarbon reserves base,” OGDCL stated.
