Novatek signs clean tech deals with Japan
Novatek has signed preliminary deals with Japan's economy ministry and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) on developing low-carbon projects, the Russian LNG exporter said on September 2.
The memorandum of cooperation with the ministry covers the development of hydrogen, ammonia and carbon capture utilisation and storage, while the cooperation agreement with JBIC covers these areas and renewable energy projects in Russia.

"One of the most important elements of our strategy is to reduce our carbon footprint, which allows us to increase the competitiveness and market attractiveness of the company's products in the context of the energy transition," Novatek CEO Leonid Mikhelson commented.
