Norwegian Gas Output Roughly to Equal 2015
For the first 11 months of the year, Norway produced a total 105bn m³ of gas with October and November (the latter a preliminary figure) both at 10.8bn m³. If December sees no change on the preceding two months, then over the year Norway will produce 116.8bn m³, compared with last year's 117.15bn m³, according to data from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate published December 21.
Last December Norway produced more than it had in either October or November, with 11.15bn m³. The same figure this year would mean equalling last year's record.

Nearly all Norway's gas is exported to Europe, where cold weather has boosted heating demand. Gas-fired power has been boosted in the UK which has for the past few years unilaterally hiked the cost of coal through a carbon support mechanism, the European Union's emissions trading scheme being seen as ineffective in the battle to cut carbon emissions.
