Norway's October Gas Output Beats Forecast
Norway's total preliminary gas sales in October were 10.9bn m³, an increase of 1.5bn m³ from the previous month, upstream regulator Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said November 21. The output was close both to the forecast, and to the equivalent volume last year.
Final production figures from September 2017 show an average daily production of about 1.445 million barrels of oil, 0.316 million barrels of NGL and condensate and a total of 9.4bn m³ saleable gas production. The gas year (October-September) was a record for Norwegian gas output with total sales of 123.34bn m³.
Over 95% of that total sales figure was flowed by pipeline to Europe. However just under 5% was produced from the Snohvit field in the far north of Norway, where output is liquefied and exported to more distant markets. NPD data give Snohvit's sales gas production between October 2016 and September 2017 as 5.43bn m3.
