Norway's August gas output lags forecast
Norwegian gas output lagged the forecast in August according to preliminary government data – the third month running – at 3.6% less than planned in December 2020.
They were also lower than they had been in July. Total gas sales were 9.3bn m³ and are forecast to be lower again this month.

Gas production this year has totalled 74.0bn m³, marginally ahead of the 73.7bn m³ forecast, thanks to a surge in the first four months of the year relative to forecast. Nearly all its production, which is forecast to reach 113bn m³ this year, is exported. State producer Equinor has however announced plans to squeeze few more billion cubic metres from gas fields in the coming gas year, beginning October 1, to take advantage of the exceptionally high prices.
