New Exploration Boss for Norwegian Directorate
Torgeir Stordal has been hired as the exploration director in the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) with effect from September 1, replacing Sissel Eriksen who had held the position at the offshore regulator since 2007 and is now leaving the management team, NPD said.
Stordal had worked for Shell since 1989, as geophysicist and geologist within exploration and field development. In recent years, he has held several management positions within exploration. During the period 2009-2013, he was the exploration manager for the Anglo-Dutch major's Norwegian business and has since held a global role within resource evaluation at Shell’s headquarters in the Netherlands.
