Are New Communication Heads Hinting at Increasing Role of Energy Dialogue?
In very few hours, two energy company reported a change at the helm of their communication offices, indicating that they will try to cope with present complexities - related to oil and gas prices - resorting to more modern, and active communication.
On Monday, DONG Energy announced that Martin Barlebo will be the new head of communications.
‘Martin is 44 years old and has since 2010 been head of communications in the publicly listed medical company, ALK Abello. Previously, he has for 10 years advised companies and organisations as consultant and partner in Holm Kommunikation and in addition he has four years of experience from the Danish Agency for Trade and Industry’ the company wrote on its website.
Barlebo’s appointment could also hint at the need of good ties with the public administration.
Last week, Italy’s ENI appointed a former journalist with know-how in digital information and social relation as its new Director of External Communication.
‘ENI is strengthening the communication of its global activities, focusing on the innovation opportunities offered by digital technology in order to make its relationships with stakeholders, media and public opinion broader and even more transparent. Marco Bardazzi’s appointment as Executive Vice President of External Communication is in line with this perspective’ reads a note released last Wednesday.
