Neptune Ties in Duva to Gjoa off Norway

Neptune Energy has completed the five-day pull-in of Duva's dynamic umbilical at the Neptune-operated Gjoa semi-submersible platform while the latter was in normal production, the private company said September 30. This was a first for Neptune.

Duva, Neptune's first discovery in Norway, is being developed as a subsea installation with three oil producers and one gas producer. The umbilical will transfer power, hydraulics, chemicals and communication between the Duva subsea development and the Gjoa platform.

First oil from the Duva field is due in 2021. Neptune said: "The Norwegian sector is an important part of Neptune's geographically-diverse and gas weighted portfolio and the development of Duva will increase production and extend the production life of our operated Gjoa platform."

Neptune (operator), Idemitsu Petroleum and Polish PGNiG each have 30% and local Sval Energi has the rest of the licence.

Duva is 14 km northeast of Gjoa at a water depth of 340 m. Gross 2P reserves are 88mn barrels of oil equivalent (boe), of which about 66mn boe are gas.
