Neptune reports Hamlet find off Norway
Neptune Energy reported on March 21 the discovery of hydrocarbons at the Hamlet well in the Norwegian North Sea.
The well tapped into a reservoir at the Gjoa licence, operated by Neptune with a 30% interest. Logs encountered hydrocarbons and a decision was made to initiate coring. Neptune cautioned that it could not yet confirm whether commercial volumes of hydrocarbons were present, adding that a side-track well might be drilled to further define the extent of the discovery.

The Hamlet well was spudded 58 km west of Floro, Norway, in waters 358 m deep. Neptune noted that the borehole was located within one of the company's core areas, close to existing infrastructure.
Other partners in the Gjoa licence include Petoro with 30%, Wintershall Dea with 28% and OKEA with 12%.
