Neptune launches third well at German onshore gas field
London-based Neptune Energy has reported first production from its third well at the Adorf gas field in the Georgsdorf municipality in northwest Germany.
The Z17 well in the Carboniferous formation will boost production at the Adorf licence by 1,800 barrels of oil equivalent/day to about 6,300 boe/d, Neptune said in a statement on May 25.
The well's launch comes after the completion of a dedicated processing plant for treating its gas earlier this year.
Neptune's managing director in Germany, Andreas Scheck, described the Adorf Carboniferous field as "one of Neptune's most promising activities in Germany," noting the company's "desire to grow the business there."
Adorf was discovered in 2022 and its first well Z15 came on stream in October of the same year. A second well, Z16, was commissioned in early 2022.
Neptune is now drilling a fourth well, Z18, which reached a final depth of 4,773 m in April. It is on track to start flowing gas in the third quarter of this year.
Neptune is the 100% operator of the Adorf Carboniferous field.
