Neptune Awards Gjoa Contracts

Privately backed Neptune Energy has awarded Rosenberg WorleyParsons contracts for modifications to Gjoa semi-submersible platform which it operates with a 30% stake. The engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contracts cover topside modifications to be carried out on the Gjoa platform as part of the Duva and Gjoa P1 projects, it said June 11.

The contracts are awarded under the existing Gjoa topside modification frame agreement signed with Rosenberg WorleyParsons in 2018. Neptune said the work was needed "to maintain the fast-track schedule for developing Duva and Gjoa P1 as subsea tie-backs to Gjoa. The project demonstrates our commitment to pursuing growth opportunities and further strengthens Gjoa’s position as a hub for the wider area.” The modification contracts will last until 2021, it said.

Gjoa is predominantly a gas reservoir with remaining reserves estimated at 297mn barrels of oil equivalent (boe), of which gas comprises over 65%.

According to Neptune's website, "operational performance and production levels have been outstanding since the start of production and good reservoir management has extended the field life. Gjoa is now set to produce 100mn boe more than was estimated when production started."
