Wintershall Dea Sets Sights on More Algerian Gas
Algerian state producer Sonatrach and German Wintershall Dea have signed a memorandum of understanding that could lead to further co-operation upstream in Algeria and internationally, they said.

Wintershall Dea joins a number of companies that have this summer pledged to invest in Africa's biggest gas resources holder, following US Occidental Petroleum's promise, reported by Sonatrach, to make the country a core asset earlier this month.
Viva Energy to Commit to Oz LNG Regas Terminal Feed by Year-End
Sydney-listed fuel supplier Viva Energy is intending to proceed to the front-end engineering and design (Feed) phase of the proposed LNG regasification terminal at Geelong in the state of Victoria by the end of the year, it said in its half -yearly results report.
- Last month, it started the process of seeking expressions of interest from commercial partners for the terminal.

Another Australian company, AGL, has also proposed to build an LNG import terminal in Victoria but the project is facing delays. US major ExxonMobil too was in the race but shelved its plans late last year.
Oz NWS Partners Ink Gas Processing Deals
The North West Shelf (NWS) project participants have signed preliminary deals for processing third-party gas through the NWS facilities with Woodside, in respect of gas from the Pluto fields, and with Mitsui and Beach Energy, in respect of the Waitsia gas project stage 2, Woodside said.
- “Gas produced from the offshore Pluto fields is planned to be transported to the NWS project facilities through the proposed Pluto-KGP interconnector, which is targeting ready for start-up in 2022,” Woodside said.
- Woodside had planned to process gas from its huge Browse field but the final investment decision on the $20bn project has been deferred to an unspecified date.
Oz Beach Energy's Full Year Profit Drops 13%
Sydney-listed Beach Energy announced its net profit in the 12 months to June 30 (FY2020) was down 13% yr/yr owing to a drop in average realised oil price.
- The company also announced it had executed a new offshore drilling agreement with Diamond Offshore General Company for the use of the Ocean Onyx semi-submersible rig to undertake Victorian Otway offshore drilling programme.
