Naftogaz's Egyptian Gas Output Reaches 300,000 cubic meters a day

Ukraine’s Naftogaz on Thursday said that natural gas production at Alam EL Shawish East in the Western Desert of Egypt has reached 300,000 cubic meters a day.

During September and October a total of 19 million cubic meters of natural gas has been extracted, the company said in a statement.

The company stated that gas production began after launch of first phase of the gas pipeline and completion of the development of fields in September.

Naftogaz also expects to produce around 260,000 tonnes of oil in Egypt, which is around 11-12% of all annual oil extraction in Ukraine.

In 2015, the company plans to finish building the technological infrastructure on the fields and commission pipelines and expects production rate of up to 950 tonnes (now around 740 tonnes) of oil and 700,000 cubic meters of gas a day.
